Driving long distances to shoots is a regular occurrence in the shoot world and one five hour car journey to Newcastle was the start of the conversation that led to the delight that is Dixie Daydream – our gorgeous glamourpuss caravan at Camber Sands.

As stylists in a creative industry we are always excited by new finds and treasures and can’t resist a challenge. What if we buy and transform a static caravan. It would be a great shoot space and we can Air B&B it and go to town on the décor to curate a leopard print Maximalist dream!

Within an hour we had decided on a name, bought the website, sorted the Instagram and we were already planning all the details of what she was going to look like. With our heads full of ideas, Dixie was well and truly on the way. Now we needed to find her.

With Di having previously lived near Rye in East Sussex, Camber Sands was the obvious choice with its beautiful
golden sandy beaches, and with historic medieval Rye, picturesque Appledore and wind- swept Dungeness on its doorstep as well as great places to eat and drink.

After a bit of searching within a week we had bought our caravan and were on our way to creating Dixie.
Next step was the transformation - we set to work to ban the beige and create our more is more maximalist dream.
